Hope June's treating you well. We had a proper taste of summer this week, even if it never quite sticks around here on the Ayrshire coast for long.
Lots been happening at Afta HQ this month, so I wanted to bring you up to speed — from what's on site, to what's coming up on the podcast, a bit of life outside the day job, and something exciting in the diary I'd love you to be part of.

Client Projects
We have had some fabulous progress across all of our current projects this month. One that stands out is our Gorbals client- a new build development conversion of an old fabric factory. When we first met the client the development was done, but they were left with a typical ‘white box’ home. For the design, we have delved back into the history of the building and its position within Glasgow. Its giving ‘Urban, NYC loft vibes’ which is very cool! Its not often a home comes up with this style of brief, and it has been so much fun to work on. Most importantly, our client loved it too and we are now moving into the next phase with handover to contractor and getting furniture orders in place.
Another project, is our self build clients in Portencross. We were brought in by the architect to help them with any interior selections that may affect the cost when it goes to tender. For context, this is any hard finishes, like bathroom design and flooring. And electrics/ lighting and any built in cabinetry. This can be so overlooked- and overwhelming but getting as much info in place at this stage will give anyone doing a self build an accurate as possible quotation when it comes to build. we thoroughly enjoyed working on this- its not our usual scope but it hones into our ultimate ethos of designing a home for the way you live. Electrics and lighting placed specifically for movement and tasks. Materials selected for longevity. It might be a while before we get to see this one in real life- but we might share a wee preview of the bathroom designs on socials.

We have been busy behind the scenes working on something, that we haven’t yet shared online yet- your are the FIRST to know!
On July 30th, we will be bringing our event A Night With Afta to Ayrshire- cohosting with Joanna at JS Geddes. Im so excited.
We recently hosted the pilot of this event back in March with Rocca showroom in Glasgow, featuring an expert lineup, (Ashley, Afta Interiors, John Amabile - John Amabile Design, Ross Cunningham, Rossco Tiling, Alicia Hernandez) and our homeowner guests gave thrilling feedback.
